The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Cape Coast, George Justice Arthur, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as Cape Coast’s fair share of national development.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview, Mr. Arthur said the metropolis has benefited significantly from government interventions, particularly under the 24-hour economy policy, which is expected to boost local business activities and create jobs.
He revealed that Cape Coast has been selected to host a 24-hour economy market, and preparations are already underway. According to him, land has been cleared and handed over to contractors, with documents and contracts signed to begin work soon.

The MCE also disclosed that Cape Coast is among the areas chosen to benefit from a garment factory project, which forms part of government’s industrialisation drive. He explained that the factory is expected to provide employment opportunities for the youth and support local economic growth.
Mr. Arthur expressed gratitude to President Mahama, saying the government has shown strong commitment to developing Cape Coast.
He assured residents that the Assembly will continue to work hard to ensure these projects are completed and deliver the expected benefits to the people.
