The government says a total of 87 road infrastructure projects are currently under construction across the country as part of efforts to improve connectivity, facilitate trade and enhance economic growth.

Minister for Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson, disclosed the update in a Facebook post on Tuesday August 4, 2026, stating that the projects include roads, bridges and city street developments aimed at improving transportation and opening up communities.

Sharing a graphic highlighting the ongoing works, the finance minister said, “87 projects underway right now! Roads are how a country moves. Ghana is being connected again.”

The accompanying graphic, branded by the Ministry of Finance, indicated that the projects span roads, bridges and urban street infrastructure currently under construction in different parts of the country.

Although the Minister did not provide a detailed breakdown of the individual projects or their locations, the announcement signals the government’s continued focus on expanding and rehabilitating the country’s transport network.

Road infrastructure remains a key component of the government’s development agenda, with investments expected to improve access to markets, reduce travel time, support businesses and strengthen regional connectivity.
