Victory in Election 2024 Will Be Meaningless If NDC Fails to Win 2028-Kirk Mensah

Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Richard Kirk-mensah has cautioned party communicators and youth wing that the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections could amount to little if it fails to retain power in the 2028 elections.

According to him, the party must build on the gains of the 2024 victory and work collectively to secure another decisive win in 2028.

Mr. Mensah made the call at the opening of a two-day Western Regional Quadrennial Youth Conference of the NDC in Takoradi.

He urged the youth wing and communicators to remain united, disciplined and strategic in their communication, stressing the need for them to effectively explain the government’s policies and achievements to the electorate.

He noted that the 2028 election would be critical to the party’s continued political relevance and therefore called on communicators to intensify their grassroots engagement and counter misinformation with facts.

Mr. Mensah argued that the first-term administration of President John Mahama transformed the country, but claimed that the gains were reversed after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over in 2017 and allegedly mismanaged the country for eight years.

Against this backdrop, Kirk Mensah urged the NDC Youth Wing and party communicators to use their platforms responsibly, foster unity, and refrain from actions or rhetoric that could deepen internal divisions and undermine the party’s electoral prospects.

He emphasized that securing victory in 2028 would require sustained teamwork, effective communication and a strong connection with the electorate.
