The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, congratulating him on his appointment and birthday while commending his efforts toward the development of the Volta Region.
The delegation, led by the President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, visited the Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV said the visit was intended to strengthen relations between the traditional leadership of the Volta Region and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also congratulated Mr Ablakwa on his birthday and appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister.
Receiving the chiefs, Mr Ablakwa expressed appreciation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him.
He described the gesture as a privilege, particularly because the traditional leaders had travelled to Accra to pay the courtesy call.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV commended the Minister for what he described as his dedicated service and contribution to Ghana’s development.
He also praised Mr Ablakwa for his attention to the development needs of his constituency and the Volta Region.
According to the Paramount Chief, the Volta Region had, over the years, faced challenges in accessing its fair share of national resources and development opportunities.
He, however, noted that the situation had improved significantly in recent times, which he attributed partly to the Minister’s efforts and commitment to ensuring that the interests of the region received greater attention.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV further praised Mr Ablakwa for maintaining a strong connection with the Volta Region despite his national responsibilities.
He encouraged the Minister to continue advocating for the development interests of the region while serving the broader interests of Ghana.
The visit is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
