Inside the Margaret Tobbin Temple: Where Heaven Meets Modern Design – Photos

Imagine walking into a church that looks more like a concert hall and art gallery combined. That’s exactly what you feel when you step into the Margaret Tobbin Temple in Accra Newton Newtown.

This new 6-storey building of The Church of Pentecost sponsored by Renowned Ghanaian Preacher and Businessman, Elder Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, was just dedicated, and it’s changing what a “church” can look like.

The temple is named after Deaconess Margaret Ama Badu Tobin. Church leaders say she was a woman who gave everything for God’s work. Naming the building after her is their way of saying “thank you” and keeping her legacy alive.

At the heart of the building is the Dr. Thomas Wyatt Assembly Auditorium, a spacious worship centre fitted with cushioned seats, large screens, modern lighting and professional sound equipment.

Purple and blue lights brighten the auditorium, while screens on the stage and balcony allow worshippers to follow services from different parts of the hall.

But the temple goes beyond the main auditorium.

The building has colourful learning rooms for children, offices, meeting rooms, lounges, a kitchen and an infirmary equipped with a hospital bed.

There is also a dedicated youth auditorium, providing a space for young people to meet and participate in church activities.

Large windows bring natural light into the building and offer views of parts of Accra.

From the worship space to the children’s rooms and other facilities, the Margaret Tobbin Temple presents a modern approach to creating a place for worship, learning and community activities.

For the Church of Pentecost, the building also serves as a tribute to the legacy of Deaconess Margaret Ama Badu Tobbin, whose name it carries.
