The Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu Esq., has appealed to the Minister of Roads and President John Dramani Mahama to expedite road projects in the constituency.
Speaking to journalists during a Homowo outreach where he donated food items to underprivileged families, Dr. Sosu said Madina’s population has grown from 100,000 ten years ago to about 250,000 today, putting pressure on infrastructure.
Dr. Sosu noted that while almost all roads in Madina have been awarded on contract, contractors have not shown “good faith” in returning to site.
He expressed hope that before the end of the NDC administration’s tenure, contractors will resume work.
He added that the NDC government has “advanced the course of Madina” in the last two years, with ongoing interventions in schools, hospitals and road maintenance.
Dr. Sosu also said he is working with the Local Government Ministry to have Madina upgraded to a metropolitan assembly status.
