A three-storey building at Manhyia South, near the Manhyia Government Hospital in Kumasi, has been gutted by fire.
The incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, sending residents and passers-by into a state of panic as smoke and flames engulfed parts of the building.
According to preliminary reports, the fire is alleged to have been caused by a gas explosion. However, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed.
Firefighters were reportedly called to the scene to battle the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The extent of damage to the property, as well as any possible injuries or casualties, remains unclear at the time of reporting.
