New Era; George Krown is now George Crown

Ghanaian artist George Crown, formerly known as George Krown, has entered a new chapter in his personal and artistic journey following a change in the spelling of his name.

The change, from “Krown” to “Crown,” may appear small, but George says it carries deep personal and spiritual meaning.

According to the artist, on Monday, August 3, 2026, he experienced what he describes as a personal message from God while driving to work. The experience led him to reconsider the spelling of his artistic name and replace the “K” with a “C.”

A day later, on Tuesday, August 4, George received a voice note through Ghanaian radio personality Dav Hammers, formerly associated with Hello FM in Kumasi and known for hosting Entertainment Review.

The voice note came from a woman who expressed her appreciation for George’s music. She said she and her boss loved his songs and had been searching online for his music but were struggling to find it.

For George, the timing was significant. Coming just a day after his personal experience, he interpreted the message as confirmation that it was time to embrace the change.

He subsequently began the process of transitioning from George Krown to George Crown.

For the artist, the new name is more than a branding decision. He sees the word “Crown” as a symbol of authority, victory, responsibility, elevation and identity.

George says the change represents a new season in his life and creative journey while still honouring the experiences and lessons that shaped him.

The events of August 3 and 4 have therefore become important milestones in his story—first, the personal experience he had while driving, followed by what he considers an unexpected confirmation through the voice note.

Now, George Krown is officially moving forward as George Crown.

For him, the change of one letter represents a renewed sense of identity, purpose and direction.
