Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated a Steering Committee to oversee the development of Ghana’s Petroleum Downstream Infrastructure Master Plan (DIMP).
Mr Jinapor announced the development in a post on his social media platforms, describing the Master Plan as a critical step towards addressing infrastructure gaps and improving the efficiency and utilisation of existing petroleum downstream assets.
According to the Minister, the initiative is also aimed at strengthening downstream petroleum logistics and creating a more predictable environment for investment in the sector.
He said the objective is to develop a practical and implementable roadmap that responds to Ghana’s future energy needs while supporting economic growth and strengthening energy security.
Mr Jinapor said he expects the committee to produce a comprehensive plan that will guide government policy, inform investment decisions and drive meaningful transformation in Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector.
The Master Plan is expected to provide a strategic framework for addressing infrastructure challenges within the petroleum downstream industry and improving the country’s capacity to manage future energy demands.
The Minister expressed confidence that the committee would deliver a plan capable of providing clear direction for infrastructure development and investment in the downstream petroleum sector.
