Foreign Affairs Ministry Announces Passport Website Temporarily Down Over Technical Issues

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Ghana’s passport application website is temporarily unavailable due to technical difficulties.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Ministry said customers, particularly those seeking to access the online passport application platform, may experience difficulties accessing passport.mfa.gov.gh.

The Ministry explained that the website is currently experiencing technical issues, resulting in its temporary shutdown.

It said its technical team is working closely with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) to identify and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

The disruption may affect members of the public who rely on the online platform to access passport application services, including those who may be attempting to begin or continue their applications.

The Ministry has apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the technical challenge.

It assured the public that efforts are underway to restore the website and enable users to access the passport application services again.

The Ministry further indicated that it would issue an update once the problem has been resolved.

The public is therefore advised to await further communication from the Ministry regarding the restoration of the passport website.
