MTN Ghana Foundation is set to crown the winner of its prestigious Heroes of Change Season 7 on Friday, May 30, 2025, at a grand ceremony at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
Launched in September 2024, the seventh season of the initiative received an overwhelming response, with over 2,000 applications from individuals and organizations across Ghana. The program seeks to identify and honor everyday Ghanaians making extraordinary contributions to their communities through selfless service.
This season featured 13 compelling episodes, each profiling changemakers whose tireless efforts are transforming lives in the areas of health, education, and economic empowerment.
The first episode highlighted Dr. Angela Dwamena, a gender activist and Executive Director of the Ark Foundation Ghana, under the Economic Empowerment category. Her work focuses on supporting women and children who have experienced abuse, providing them with shelter, legal aid, and counseling services.
In the second episode, Judith Kokui Azumah was featured under the Health category. As the founder of the Restored and Renewed Centre—Ghana’s first all-female rehabilitation facility—she is pioneering addiction treatment tailored to women’s needs, offering therapy, counseling, and community support.
The Education category was represented in the third episode by Reachel Adjaottor Adom, founder of the Challenged Children Foundation. Her organization provides shelter, care, and educational support for children with disabilities.
Gideon Hopeson Zege, a beekeeper and social entrepreneur, was featured in the fourth episode under Economic Empowerment. Despite personal challenges, Gideon has trained over 2,000 honey hunters in sustainable beekeeping, with 1,200 active beekeepers currently operating in the Afram Plains.
Episode five told the story of Linda Donkor, an HIV advocate and Data Manager. Through her Auntie Linda Foundation, she works to combat stigma and provide support to people living with HIV. With over eight years of experience in HIV data management, Linda’s work bridges the gap between clinical care and community awareness.
The grand finale will bring together these inspiring individuals and many others, as the nation awaits the announcement of the overall winner of MTN Heroes of Change Season 7.
