In a latest development, the police indicated that the Lawmaker refused to appear in court on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
The Police said five of the drivers appeared before the court where four, Dominic Atuahene-Ababio, Daniel Boateng, Emmanuel Kofi Ofori and Joseph Brown were sentenced to pay a fine of GHC1,800 each or in default serve three months prison terms.
It confirmed, however, that all four convicted drivers paid their fines.
For one of the drivers, Thomas Atinga, he was convicted to sign a bond to be of good behaviour for three months or in default serve three months prison term.
The Police Administration therefore directed all Police formations throughout the country to clamp down on recalcitrant drivers especially those who drive V8 vehicles.
It also cautioned the V8 drivers to stop flouting Road Traffic Regulations or face the full rigour of the law if arrested.
“We are determined to enforce the laws of the country and therefore urge the public to support us in this endeavour,” the police added.
