His Royal Majesty Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, the Omanhen and President of the Abeadze Traditional Area, and the immediate past Vice-President of the National House of Chiefs, has honored Thecia Jenkins Kwarteng, a distinguished U.S.-based emotional intelligence practitioner. The ceremony, organised in collaboration with the Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence, highlighted her significant contributions to advancing emotional intelligence in Ghana and beyond.
According to a citation read by Ghana’s first internationally certified emotional intelligence master coach, James Kwesi Addison on behalf of HRM Daasebre, Thecia played a pivotal role in establishing the Emotional Intelligence Africa Summit in Ghana. This annual summit unites experts from around the globe to discuss strategies for building emotional capital.

With over 25 years of experience, Jenkins is a certified practitioner in emotional intelligence and trauma-informed practices. She has dedicated her career to fostering emotionally intelligent, inclusive environments through her work with nonprofits, educational institutions, and organisations in sectors such as healthcare, social services, and criminal justice.
In her acceptance remarks, Jenkins expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a testament to the power of collaboration. She reaffirmed her commitment to addressing systemic challenges such as domestic violence and promoting equity through emotional intelligence initiatives.

“This honor inspires me to continue addressing systemic challenges and building emotional capital globally,” Jenkins stated.
