The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensah, to reverse all illegal results declared in some constituencies in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections.
Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party’s general secretary, made this statement at a press conference in Accra.
According to him, the results in some constituencies, including Ablekuma-North, Tema Central, Aowin, Dome Kwabenya, Ahafo Ano South West, Nsawam-Adoagiri, Okaikwei Central, Obuasi East, Akwatia, Suhum, and Fanteakwa North, do not accurately reflect the will of the people.
He claimed to have seen some National Democratic Congress members pressuring the returning officers of these constituencies to declare their candidate the winner by force.
However, in response to the disturbances caused by NDC supporters after the elections, Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the NPP, called on the IGP, the International Community, the Peace Council, the Christian Community, and the Muslim community to publicly condemn the act.
