President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaian youth to focus on education, skills development, entrepreneurship, and service to humanity as the country works towards national growth and unity.
Speaking at the National Eid al-Adha celebrations held at the Black Star Square on Wednesday, May 27, the President emphasised the spiritual significance of sacrifice, sincerity, and devotion during the Islamic festival.
Addressing worshippers and the nation, President Mahama stated that true sacrifice is not measured by physical offerings alone, but by the purity of one’s intentions and heart.
“It is not the meat you slaughter or the blood you spill that will reach Allah, but what will reach Allah is your heart,” he said.
The President further encouraged young people to channel their energies into productive ventures that would positively impact society and contribute to national development.
“Our nation needs young people who are focused on education, skills, hard work, entrepreneurship, and service to humanity,” he added.
President Mahama also used the occasion to call for unity, discipline, and peaceful coexistence among Ghanaians, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The Eid al-Adha celebration brought together Muslim leaders, government officials, traditional authorities, and members of the public to observe one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar.
