The Acting Chairman of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of the Global Fund, Mr. Ernest Amoabeng Ortsin, has commended the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, for positively impacting growth and development of the public health sector.
He noted that the School had transformed the public health system over the years, with the training of quality human resource for the country and beyond and ought to be celebrated for the feat.
He said this on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the School in Accra.
“The CCM and Global Fund congratulate the School of Public Health for 30 years of transforming the sector
“In my candid opinion, without any shred of doubt, without any fear of controversy, I can say that the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, is one of the best public health training institutions in the world, in terms of standards.”
Mr. Ortsin said the School had been the backbone of innumerable studies in support of the national response to HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and stressed that such efforts must be celebrated.
He said, “the CCM and Global Fund deeply appreciate this support and pledge to continue working with the School of Public Health to continue improving the lives of Ghanaians.”
The event was attended by many stakeholders in the health sector, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), which was represented by the Country Representative, Dr. Frank John Lule.
