International Relations and Security Expert, Irbard Ibrahim, has described the controversy surrounding American President , Donald Trump’s, “shithole” comments as exaggerated and unimportant.
The US leader allegedly described African countries as "shitholes" in a meeting on immigration last Thursday.
Mr. Trump has, however, denied making the disparaging remarks.
Speaking Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Monday, International Relations and Security expert, Irbard Ibrahim explained that the comments by the President have been taken out of context.
According to him, there are other matters of international diplomacy which are more important than “shithole’ comments.
“I think there are more important issues to be discussed. I have read the response by former President Mahama, President Akufo Addo and the African Union. I think this is a much ado about nothing ,” he said.
The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo in a tweet on Sunday, described President Donald Trump's "shithole" comments as unfortunate.
According to Nana Addo, Ghana is not a "shithole" country and that the country will not accept such insults from the American President.
