A petition challenging the eligibility of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey has been dismissed by the Sekondi High Court.

One Joshua Emuah Kofie filed the petition challenging the nationality of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Toffey.

Passing judgement today, 21st November 2022, the court presided over by Justice Dr. Richmond Osei Hwere declared the MP eligible on grounds that she lost her Ivorian citizenship at the very time she acquired her Ghanaian Citizenship.

Joshua Emuah Kofie had alleged that the MP held multiple nationalities, including American and Ivorian citizenships, and therefore was ineligible to contest and be elected MP.
