A Security Analyst, Dr Adam Bonaa, says the lack of trust in the police by citizens makes them want to hit back at the police when they fault in their line of duty.
His comments follow the shooting incident at Tamale over the weekend.
Six police Officers were interdicted over the weekend following a shooting incident at Lamashegu in Tamale.
One person died while others sustained various degrees of injuries in the violence.
According to eyewitnesses, the chaos started after a police patrol team allegedly shot a young man driving a white Toyota Camry with a DV number plate after he had refused to stop when the police stopped him.
He is said to have driven to the Chief for cover but was pursued there by the Police.

Speaking on Atinka TV‘s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, the security expert attributed the behaviour of the youth to lack of trust the people have in the police and their work.
He also said these things happen as a result of how police officers are recruited and the kind of training they get, as well as their psychological makeup.
The Security Expert also said the citizens do not really understand the work of the police well, and so some of the youth when being stopped by the police do not understand why the police must stop him and may not stop.
For the training of the police, he said their training was insufficient whiles others do not use their training to work at all.
Meanwhile, he called on the Ghana Police Service to educate the public about their work so that they (public) will understand them better in order to prevent such incidents from happening.
“It requires education. If all these things are done, it will help the citizens understand that when the police stops you, you have to stop and answer questions,”he said.
