A mother and her two children have been found dead in a room at Akyem Ntronang in the Birim North District of Eastern region.
The deceased mother, Patience Kpezle is believed to be in her 30’s while the children – a girl and a boy are aged 11 and 13 respectively.
Residents in the area believe Emmanuel Gafa, husband of the late Patience Kpezle killed his children and wife and absconded afterwards .
According to the residents, Gafa was last seen in the community on Sunday, August 22,2021.
The Assembly member for the area, Dodze Samuel told the media that he received a phone call from some residents drawing his attention to the fact that Patience and her children had not been seen in the community since Sunday .
He subsequently proceeded to the house to “check up on them” and to his disbelief, he saw the three persons lying dead while the husband was nowhere to be found. He quickly called the police after the shocking experience.

Dodze told the media that the “runaway” husband is a stepfather to the two dead children and that Patience Kpezle was originally from a town called Nyanua, a suburb of Asamankese in the West Akyem Municipality of Eastern region but moved in to stay with her husband at Akyem Ntronang after getting married to him .
The Assembly man further disclosed that, prior to the incident, the couple had been engaged in several marital issues and that their church pastor once intervened to calm tempers . “I also once intervened,” the Assembly man disclosed
The Birim North District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Peter Ofori Donkor speaking to the media confirmed the incident and that door to the room was locked from outside
He added that the bodies had been deposited at Abirem Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy whilst police search for the runaway husband of the dead woman.
