Eid-ul-Adha: Akufo-Addo urges Muslims to pray for a peaceful election

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, has asked all Muslims in Ghana to take advantage of the Holy Month of Zhul-hija and pray for the peace of Ghana as the country prepares to hold elections on December 7th.
Wishing all Muslims in Ghana a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, in a Facebook post asked Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice and loyalty that inspired Prophet Ibrahim to accept Allah’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
Akufo-Addo noted that Eid-ul-Adha is a celebration of true essence of Islam, Peace and submission to the will of Allah. Akufo-Addo also pledged to continue to do his outmost to help build a society of opportunities for all , irrespective of creed, ethnicity or gender.
“I pray we use the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice and loyalty that inspired Prophet Ibrahim to accept Allah’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Our nation requires this of us – that we sacrifice our abilities and talents to the building of a Ghana Beyond Aid.”
“ We the people of the book-Christians and Muslims-owe it to our Abrahamic ancestry to continue to foster the spirit of unity and peaceful coexhistence that has made Ghana the ency of Man Nations.I wish you all happy celebrations. Eid Mubarak!”, he said.
