Nkwaie Police Arrest Five Suspected Armed Robbers Allegedly Disguised as Military Personnel

Police officers from the Nkwaie District Police Command have arrested five individuals suspected of posing as military personnel to carry out armed robberies at Kotokuom in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

According to preliminary information, the suspects, who were dressed in military-style uniforms and allegedly armed with guns, knives, and other weapons, targeted miners operating in the area.

The suspects have been identified as:

Abdulai Basit Zulkalali
Seidu Sulemaina
Abubakar Sadick
Alafate Fuseini
Sharif Master Audi

Speaking to Atinka News, the suspects claimed they were members of a Muslim Community Taskforce working on behalf of Ghana Muslims.

The Ghana Police Service is conducting further investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and verify the claims made by the suspects.

The five suspects are currently being held in police custody at Toase pending further investigations and any subsequent legal action.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals impersonating security personnel to the nearest police station.
