The New Patriotic Party is calling for the immediate prosecution of the electoral commission official in the Kintampo South Constituency of the Bono Region.
Their call follows the arrest of an Electoral Commission (EC) official in the Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region for allegedly issuing faulty ballot papers during the ongoing elections.
Dery Joseph, the suspect, is under investigation for allegedly distributing about 15 ballot papers at the Ampesika-Bayere Polling Station that omitted the name of the first presidential candidate.
Addressing the media at an emergency press conference, Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, said the party is happy for the arrest of the suspect by the police but wants his immediate prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.
He commended the security task force, especially the police, for the timely response in apprehending the suspect.
He also commended the Electoral Commission for the smooth running of the electoral processes across the country, despite a few challenges.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye continued his speech by urging party supporters and agents to remain vigilant and resolute, as he believed that Dr. Bawumia and the NPP would win the elections.
