Some 70 passengers have reportedly perished in a fatal accident on the Tamale-Kintampo stretch Friday morning, Atinkaonline.com has learnt.
The accident which occurred at Ampomakrom, near Kintampo in the Bono East Region involved a VVIP bus with registration number GT 3915-17 and a grand bird bus with registration number GT-5694-18.
The VVIP bus which was heading towards Garu in the Upper East Region collided head-on with the Grand bird bus which was also heading towards Bolgatanga in the upper West Region.
The grand bird bus went up in flames after the collision after the crash killing almost all the passengers on board.
Passengers who survived the accident are receiving treatment at the Jema government hospital, Kintampo government hospital and Holy family hospital.
