Nyantakyi’s prosecution dependent on “weight” of evidence – Lawyer

Renowned legal practitioner, Lawyer Arthur Dadzie, has advised the general public to desist from making assumptions and preempting the outcome of an expose involving the GFA President, Kwasi Nyantakyi.

According to him, the prosecution of the GFA boss will be dependent on the gravity of the evidence that will be presented to the CID and the court, should it get there.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has allegedly been caught in a video excerpt alluring some international investors to part with various sums of monies meant to entice the palms of president Akufo-Addo, the vice president Dr. Bawumia, and some other state officials.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has confirmed that it has received a formal complaint from the President and that they have started investigating Kwesi Nyantakyi for alleged offenses including corruption.

The video, which captures GFA President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, forms part of the yet -to- be released corruption exposé by ace investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Ghana football.

Speaking to Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive, Renowned legal practitioner, Lawyer Arthur Dadzie advised the general public to stay calm and leave the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Police to execute their duties without interference.

“It is still an allegation and the general public need to allow the CID to do its investigation to determine the next line of action”, he said.

He urged the media to be circumspect on submissions with regards to the issue to prevent the court of public opinion from prosecuting the accused even before the issue gets to the court of law.
