Prof Opoku-Agyemang honoured in Ahafo Region

The Chiefs and People of Yankye Traditional Area in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo region have honoured Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with her enstoolment as the Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) for the area.

According to the chiefs, enstoolment, with the title Naana Agyemang Opambour I, is in recognition of her illustrious contributions to national development and renewed commitment in helping to positively change the lot of Ghanaians.

In addition, the chiefs believe the running mate is a good role model who the youth, particularly girls in the region, would continue to aspire to become.

The installation ceremony climaxed the running mate’s campaign tour of the Ahafo where she ended her five-region campaign tour after her appointment as running mate to President John Mahama.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang earlier toured the Northern, North East, Upper East and Bono regions, touching base with various groups such as traders, professional bodies, students and traditional leaders, as well as party executives and members.

During her engagements, numerous concerns were raised by the various identifiable groups, regarding economic difficulties, poor governance, and retrogression in the state of social and infrastructure development.

The running mate believes the concerns are indicative of the state of despair Ghanaians are grappling with, making the NDC’s rescue mission more relevant and urgent.

She expressed the NDC’s commitment to restore hope and roll out productive policies and programmes that would enable the citizenry to achieve the Ghanaian Dream of living in a safe, progressive and prosperous nation of equal opportunities for self and community development, devoid of marginalization.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang is convinced that Ghanaians genuinely desire a change for the better, and encouraged all to vote massively for the NDC to return to vote to continue its good works that Ghanaians can attest to.

She expressed appreciation to all the traditional leaders in the five regions for their support and encouragement, and assured all members and supporters to the NDC of hardwork to wrestle power from the present government.
