The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned 100 buses for use by the State Transport Company (STC) in Accra.
The buses are to augment the operations of the transport company which has also been economically affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
The President commissioned the buses on the day three of his working tour of the Greater Accra Region.
On the tour, he visited Circle, Abossey Okai, Jamestown, Salaga Market, Bukom Square, Okaishie, and Kokomlemle.
President Akufo-Addo also inspected ongoing works at the site of the Obetsebi-Lamptey interchange, which is now 92% complete; interacted with spare parts dealers at Abossey Okai and inspected ongoing construction works at the Jamestown Fishing Harbour.
He addressed a durbar of chiefs and people of the Ga Traditional Area, interacted with traders at Okaishie and at Tip-Toe lane, and as well commissioned a classroom block at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC).
