Tobinco Boss Donates Over $100,000 Worth of Medicines and Food to Conflict-Affected Communities in South Sudan

The Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Dr. Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, has donated medicines, food items, and other essential supplies worth more than $100,000 to support vulnerable communities affected by conflict in South Sudan.

The humanitarian donation was made through the international non-governmental organization, Action for the Protection of Children’s Rights, as part of efforts to improve healthcare access and provide relief to displaced persons, particularly children and low-income families living in conflict-affected areas.

The donated items included essential medicines, nutritional products, and relief food supplies aimed at addressing urgent health and welfare needs in communities severely impacted by ongoing instability and humanitarian challenges.

Presenting the items, Elder Dr. Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin said the initiative was undertaken through the Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation with the full support of the Tobinco Group of Companies.

He explained that the donation was motivated by concern for the plight of women, children, and other vulnerable groups whose lives have been disrupted by conflict and limited access to basic social services.

According to him, businesses have a responsibility to contribute to society beyond profit-making and should play an active role in improving the lives of disadvantaged populations.

He noted that persistent conflict in parts of South Sudan has significantly affected access to healthcare, nutrition, and other essential human needs, making humanitarian intervention crucial.

Elder Tobbin also called on political and religious leaders in the region to intensify peacebuilding efforts to ensure that citizens can live in safety, dignity, and enjoy their fundamental human rights.

The Action for the Protection of Children’s Rights, an international humanitarian organization focused on safeguarding children and vulnerable populations, received the donation on behalf of beneficiaries.

Founder and President of Helping Kids Round First, Craig Severtson, expressed gratitude to Elder Dr. Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin for his generosity and commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

He praised the donation as a timely intervention that would help improve the living conditions of many families affected by conflict and displacement.

The Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation has over the years undertaken numerous charitable initiatives aimed at supporting underserved communities, including widows, prison inmates, children, and other marginalized groups through welfare, education, healthcare, and empowerment programmes.

The latest donation further underscores the Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian service and social impact both within Ghana and beyond.
