2024 Elections: Be circumspect in your utterances- Methodist Church to Politicians  

The Presiding Bishop for Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo, has called on political leaders and their followers to be circumspect in their utterances ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the annual end -of -year briefing at the headquarters of the Methodist Church Ghana in Accra, Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo called on politicians to address issues instead of resorting to insults, intemperate language and flaming passions for conflict.

He added that although they may belong to different political parties, it does not make them enemies.

“As Ghanaians enter into the New Year whose major focus would be among others our General elections in December 2024, my message to our political leaders and their followers is to be circumspect in their utterances. They should address issues instead of resorting to insults

“We are first Ghanaians with a common destiny. Let us in this Christmas and New Year think, speak and, live and work towards peace during and after the general elections. Let us all pray for the victory of Ghana our dear nation,” Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo added.

Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo also added that though the year has been a challenging one, as Christians we need to be optimistic of a brighter tomorrow.

He called on the general public to live as people of hope who are expecting Christ’s presence to change situations for the better/.

“It is my prayer that we will all step away from the busyness of modernity to allow the timeless message of Christmas to speak to our hearts and our situations and bring the hope that we all need. Let the celebration of Christ’s birth into our world set us on the path of positive defiance of hopelessness, fear, conflict, poverty, and despair,” Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo noted.
