An unregistered tipper truck has knocked down a 6-year-old boy killing him on the spot at Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti region.
Briefing the media following the horrific incident, Ernest Adusei, Assembly Member for Barekese/ Maabang-Asenie Electoral Area said the victim, Nana Kwame, was a pupil of the Saint International School at Barekese and that he was crashed by the tipper truck on his way home after school.
According to him, the lack of speed ramps on the roads in the area contributed to the heartbreaking incident .
The assembly man is, therefore, appealing to the government through the Atwima Nwabiagya North Assembly and Highways Authority to help construct speed ramps in the area.
The driver whose name was not given has been arrested by Barekese Police command and consequently sent to the Bohyen District Police command for further interrogation..
