A member of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Manifesto Committee on Education, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, has challenged President John Mahama to debate NPP’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Alhaji Bawumia if he needs answers to his five questions.
His comment comes after NDC’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama in a statement, posed five questions to which he demanded answers from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Key among the questions Former President John Mahama is demanding answers from Dr. Bawumia is “why the exchange rate is GHS17 to the dollar?”
According to him, Dr. Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, has shifted focus from his economic lectures to pursuing digitalisation initiatives.
Reacting to the questions in an interview on Atinka TV’s “Abato) Fie” show with host Paul Elom Norsah Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh said it’s unfortunate President Mahama is running away from debating Dr. Bawumia publicly.
“I’m still wondering why former President John Mahama is refusing to debate NPP’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Alhaji Bawumia in public but rather he chooses to ask these questions on social media.
The matter is very simple, just come and debate the man(Dr. Bawumia) and pose these questions to him if only you demand answers. Why is it difficult for Mr. Mahama to honor that debate?” Dr. Tandoh quizzed.
Dr. Tandoh added that the performance of Dr. Bawumia outshines all other Vice President Ghana has ever had including Mr. Mahama who has even been a President before adding that, Ghanaians must promote Dr. Bawumia from Vice Presidency to become President to continue what the Nana. Addo-led NPP has started.
