Your admission slot remains intact even after the reporting date deadline- GES  assures new SHS students

Dr. Kwabena Tandoh, the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service, has assured that all admission slots for new senior high school students who are unable to report to their various schools on October 31, 2024, the reopening date set by the Education Service, will remain intact.

According to him, academic activities won’t begin immediately on the said date, allowing for some preparatory period before academic activities will commence.

Mr. Tandoh’s comment comes after some parents and fresh students took to social media and traditional media expressing their fear of the loss of their admission slots if they’re unable to meet the timelines, alleging that the notice was short.

During an interview on Atinka TV’s “Abato) Fie” program with host Paul Elorm Norsah, Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service responsible for Quality and Assessment, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh reassured parents and students that during the initial week, students engage in no significant learning activities apart from gathering prospectuses.

“I want to assure my fellow students that they shouldn’t panic over any loss of their admission slots because during that period, students will have the opportunity to organize and settle into their new school environments, gather necessary supplies, and fulfill pre-academic requirements.” He
