Di Asa Queens Storm Accra with Electrifying Vibes Ahead of Season 9 Launch

Accra is on fire — not with traffic or protest — but with rhythm, joy, and purpose, as the Di Asa Float blazed through the capital in spectacular fashion today.

The vibrant parade, which kicked off from the Tobinco Media Group premises, brought a carnival-like atmosphere to the streets as former Di Asa queens, dancers, brass bands, and fans of the show moved in grand style through key parts of the city.

But this wasn’t just for show. The convoy made a powerful stop at the Kaneshie Polyclinic, where a past Di Asa Queen led a generous donation of medical supplies and essential items to the facility — a touching reminder of the show’s commitment to community impact beyond entertainment.

The float is set to climax at the Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Boxing Arena) where the Atinka Banku Party is in full swing. There, guests are being treated to endless bowls of Ghana’s beloved local dish — Banku — with yellow and white maize dough flying out of giant pots faster than they can be served.

The official launch of Di Asa Season 9 — Ghana’s premier reality show for plus-size women continues after the Banku Party.
Known for its infectious energy, cultural pride, and celebration of body positivity, this season promises to raise the bar once again.

If today’s float is any indication, Di Asa isn’t just a show. It’s a movement — one that dances, gives, feeds, and unites.
