GES: Bole SHS Teacher Suspended Pending Investigation into Alleged Sexual Misconduct

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.

The action comes after a video allegedly depicting inappropriate conduct between the teacher and the student surfaced on social media, sparking public concern.

In a statement issued on Tuesday June 16, 2026, GES said it had commenced investigations into the matter and had interdicted the teacher in line with its rules and regulations while the probe is ongoing.

“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement said.

The Service strongly condemned all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students, stressing that such conduct violates professional ethics and the standards expected of education personnel.

GES reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct and cautioned staff across the country to uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times.

The statement further assured parents, students and the general public that the welfare and protection of learners remain a top priority, adding that appropriate disciplinary and legal action would be taken against anyone found culpable.

“The public is assured that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness,” GES noted, indicating that further updates may be provided as investigations progress.

The statement was signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Education Service.
