Don’t use my image for promotion without my permission- Stella Seal warns

Stella Aba Seal

Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Stella Aba Seal has warned programme organisers and Gospel Musicians never to attach her photo to their flyers without her consent .

She was of the view that if event organisers put her photo on a flyer and she does not attend the programme, it may create a bad image for her, hence the warning.

This comes after Stella Aba Seal was put on a flyer by Obaapa Christy and her team, towards an upcoming show.

Stella Aba Seal was not the only victim on the flyer, Renowned Gospel Singers, Tagoe Sisters and Daughters of Glorious Jesus were also victims.

Speaking on Accra based FM, Neat Fm, Stella Aba Seal said she was not aware of any such programme and therefore had to put it on the flyer that it was fake.

She explained that the fake tag was not the programme but that particular flyer, especially when her photo was it without her knowledge.

She described Obaapa Christy’s action as disrespectful and unprofessional.

Obaapa Christy responding to the issue apologised but explained that her team had good intentions to honour Stella Seal, hence the action.

Also responding to this, Stella Seal said Obaapa Christy in her apology was not remorseful since she went on to justify her acts.

She was of the belief that Obaapa Christy must be chastised for what she did, saying she was a role model and therefore those upcoming gospel musicians who look up to her might also learn that from her.

Stella Aba Seal even used Empress Gifty as an example, saying although Empress Gifty is ‘crazy’, she would have come down to apologise with no explanations that suggest she is not remorseful.

She said the next time anybody does that, she will resort to court for an injunction on the said programme.

“Personally, it is an insult, it is an insult that you are doing a ticketed programme and I do not know anything about it and you are collecting money, deceiving my lovers,” she said.

Stella Aba Seal added, “I do not like that and this goes to all stakeholders, pastors, bishops, archbishops, programme organisers, choirs, whoever you are, if you are doing a programme and you do not inform me, do not put my picture on the flyer.”
