A Plus, NPP Sec. go back and forth over talks to align with NPP in parliament

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus on Monday, January 6, 2025 had a back and forth with the New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong over calls to align with the NPP caucus in parliament.

A plus who has been very vocal in political issues regardless the party he affiliates with won the election as an Independent Candidate.

He has to either affiliate himself with the majority or minority in parliament when the 9th parliament begins work.

Prior to the swearing in of the 9th parliament, he took to his social media account to claim that the NPP, led by Kennedy Agyapong, officially approached him to discuss aligning with the NPP caucus.

Despite the talks with Ken, A plus said his heart leans toward the NDC, but he will ultimately side with whoever has his interest at heart and provides the best offer for him and the people of Gomoa Central.

But in a swift response, the party’s General Secretary, in a statement said,”The NPP has not met with A-Plus, nor has it authorised anyone to convey any message to him on its behalf.”

A Plus again went to his social media platform to insist that Key Personalities including Alexander Afenyo-Markin, were amongst those who spoke with him to join the NPP Caucus.
