Adom City MD praises youth for using  innovative means to fight unemployment

Rev. Joseph Opoku-Adjei, the Managing Director of Adom City Estate, has praised the youth of Ghana, stating that the future appears brighter since the youth are creating jobs for themselves through technology and innovation.

 “The future is very bright. It all starts with positioning the mind and asking yourself what you can do uniquely because the world is looking for people who prefer solutions. And the current crop of people are using a lot of technology, innovations, and other things and I want to applaud the Ghanaian youth,’ Rev. Opoku-Adjei said.

He was speaking to Atinka News reporter, Ebenezer Kewaw Madugu on the sidelines of the 2023 Spotlight Awards Africa.

The 2023 edition of the Spotlight Africa Awards was held at the Canwin Hotel in Accra, with the call on Youth to be innovative in tackling  Ghana’s challenges.

Spotlight Awards Africa is an innovative award scheme created to reward, celebrate and encourage young enterprising youth with exceptional skills who are making an impact across Africa.

The event saw prominent people from different sectors of Ghana’s economy converge to celebrate those who have excelled in their fields of endeavor.

Daniel Aboagye, well known as Teacher Aboagye, a Ghanaians IT guru who abandoned his profession for the classroom, and trained students from the Oti Region to win the second highest prize at the West Africa Robotics Model Lab Championship, was adjudged Outstanding Youth Personality of the Year.

“These children cannot pay me but I am happy Spotlight Africa is recognizing my efforts,” Teacher Aboagye said.

The CEO of Spotlight Africa Awards, Mimi Owusu-Appiah, commended the winners, saying the future is very promising.

“It was very difficult to determine the winners because all of the nominees were outstanding. We congratulate them all and urge them to continue working so diligently. Given what we’ve observed, the future looks very promising. Congratulations to everyone who won!”

 “I feel very motivated. I can now boast that my business is an award-winning brand,” Cynthia Worwornyo, a graduate of the University of Ghana, who is currently into wig making with over 90 trainees told our Journalist.

The CEO of Juicy’s Depot, Princess Juicy Joy Gans-Lartey, also said, “I’ve doing packing and printing services for over 3 years now and I don’t know I have people monitoring what I am doing. I feel so excited and I’m grateful”.
