All set for 28th GJA Awards on Saturday

The stage is set for the 75th Anniversary Awards of the 28th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, taking place this Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

President Akufo-Addo and former President Agyekum Kufuor will grace the occasion, with President Akufo-Addo delivering a speech on “The Role of the Media in Democratic Governance and Election”

The theme of the event is “The Role of the Media in Democratic Governance and Election.” President Akufo-Addo will deliver a speech focusing on: ensuring free and fair elections, fair media coverage of all candidates, the media’s role in exposing electoral malpractices and promoting transparency.

Other dignitaries attending the event include: Minister for Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, Naa Prof. Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Paramount Chief of Nandom Traditional Area, Prof. Umaru A. Pate, Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere
