Apiatse to be restored to a modern community -Abu Jinapor

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has assured the people of Apiatse that the government is committed to reconstructing the community and restoring it to become a modern community in the country.

That, according to the Minister, will bring comfort to the people and help them overcome the challenges they have encountered after the explosion.

Mr.Abu Jinapor made the remarks when the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources together with the Mineral Commission organized a durbar to engage the victims of the disaster for a possible solution to their problems. The durbar was to also demonstrate to victims how government intend to rebuild the community.

A draft plan for the reconstruction of the community was displayed publicly to the people.

Addressing the people, Mr. Jinapor indicated that, the government has made arrangements with Future Global Resources, formerly Golden Star Resources to provide temporary habitation for the commuters of Apiatse by completing some of the houses they have constructed for the people of Dumasi for resettlement, till the government completes the rebuilding of Apiatse to enable them to relocate to their old town.

That, according to him, will address any challenges they would be facing in the rainy season.

Mr. Jinapor also assured the people of the government’s commitment to consider every suggestion they have made to avoid future disputes and displeasure.

The Chief of Bepoh, Nana Atta Kojo Bremebi II urged residents to allay every fear, that the government will not rebuild the town as they want. He added that as a member of the reconstruction committee, he will ensure that the government follows all the due processes to build the town for their comfort.

He advised the people to desist from giving the media false information relating to the donations and activities of the rebuilding of the town.
