Atinka TV’s business news anchor, Maame Ama Damoah is fast becoming a celebrated and a rising star in the world of business. Over the weekend, the astute news anchor was honoured and recognised as one of the top 10 business journalists in Ghana.
The awards scheme forms part of the maiden edition of the National Brands innovation forum by RED Communications group designed to celebrate big wigs and industry players who have excelled in various fields of endeavour.
Maame Ama Damoah received the recognition based on her exemplary works and her ability to simplify business news in our local language (fante) in a way which appeals to her audience while making it easy to comprehend what is often regarded as a complex and dicey subject.

In 2019, she was selected as one of the 40 Ghanaian journalists to participate in the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, a financial education programme aimed at advancing business journalism for a period of 6 months. In addition, she has also participated in a number of fellowships programmes with the recent one being Africa Women’s Journalism fellowship which mainly focused on exploring issues relating to Gender Based Violence in Africa where she was one of the 20 female journalists selected from Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.
She pioneered Atinka TV’s business news desk in 2017 and has over the years worked tirelessly to ensure business news is best understood and easily relayed in our local language and she believes that this recognition will spur her on and help her to attain greater heights and feat.
She holds a degree in development communications and although she has no background in business and finance, she is doing exploit and hopes to do more.
