Some patients who have recovered from the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region, have shared their experience after spending a month in an Isolation treatment center in the Region.
The three COVID-19 survivors in the Asuogyaman Constituency of the Eastern Region, were part of the 12 confirmed positive cases recorded in the District following the outbreak of the virus.
After spending a month in an isolation treatment center at the Continental Hotel in the District, the three shared some experiences with Atinka TV.
38 years old James Awuku, a worker with the Indian Company constructing the Tema Mpakadam Railway Project, who was infected by a Indian colleague, said the experience was somehow disturbing.
He said he was given only a cough syrup and paracetamol during his one month stay at the Quarantine center.
He also touched on stigmatization after returning from the treatment center.
However, that was not the case of 56-year-old Madam Abena Narkie, who said she was only served with food and made to rest with no drugs during her one month treatment.
39 years old Juliana Ntiamoah, also a worker at the Indian Company where the first case was recorded in the District, also confirmed no special medication were administered on her, during her stay at the Quarantine center.
According to her, despite the good treatment given them by health officials, her disappointment had to do with the level of stigmatization exhibited to her by community members.
The three survivors, advised members of the general public to adhere to the various health safety measures, since the virus is real.
