The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has presented copies of the final voters register to all political parties contesting the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The announcement was made by the EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa, during a handover event attended by party representatives.
Addressing the gathering, Madam Mensa affirmed the credibility of the register, highlighting that the commission had resolved all 158 issues raised since the preliminary release.
“No party raised further concerns following the re-exhibition of the register, and we are confident that the current version is credible and reliable,” – she stated.
This year’s finalization marks a significant improvement from past election cycles, which were marred by allegations of inaccuracies, omissions, and double entries.
The EC’s updated processes, including digital verification and a more transparent review mechanism, have helped address these issues, restoring public trust.
In her closing remarks, Madam Mensa declared, “We thank all of you. Now we have a credible register. It is finished. May God bless our homeland Ghana.”
