The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the General Public that it is working to finalize issues regarding the Sene West Constituency to enable the transparent, fair, credible and peaceful conclusion of the process.
According to the EC, the Sene West Parliamentary seat which was put on hold and could not be declared earlier during the 2020 election is yet to be finalised, adding that its outcome will be declared soon.
Winner of the particular seat was put on hold because both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are claiming to have won the seat.
Currently, the NPP has 137 seats, the NDC 136, and Independent 1 seat.
The winner of the Sene West Constituency seat could also determine the faith of both parties.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission in a statement said it is aware of contests to some Parliamentary Seats by both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress in a number of Constituencies.
“We entreat the Political Parties to use the laid down processes established by law to seek redress to their concerns,” EC said.
