President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Drmanai Mahama has appointed Mr. Edmond Kombat Esq. as the Acting Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Limited, effective immediately.
Mr. Kombat, who served as Deputy Managing Director of TOR since February 2025, brings to the role a wealth of experience in Ghana’s energy sector. He has previously worked with the Ministry of Energy, Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), and TOR itself.
He is also a co-founder of the Institute for Energy Security (IES) and has held strategic advisory roles across South Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique.
TOR, in a statement signed by Godwin Mahama Ayaba, Corporate Affairs Officer – External Affairs, described Mr. Kombat as a “seasoned energy professional” whose leadership is expected to drive the refinery’s transformation and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s quest for energy security and economic growth.
TOR remains Ghana’s premier refinery and a key national asset.
