“I’ll collaborate with the Church to complete the National Cathedral”- Bawumia

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that he will collaborate with the Church to see to the completion to the National Cathedral.

According to him, the project is very important for the Country emits not be abandoned.President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in March 2020 cut sod for the construction of the National Cathedral.

President Akufo-Addo has since been criticized for his decision to build a National Cathedral in the face of numerous challenges facing the country.

The interdenominational Christian Cathedral, when completed, will have a 5,000 seating capacity with chapels, a baptistery, a music school, an art gallery and a Bible museum.

Responding to a question by a clergyman during his interaction with clergymen in the Region as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia said, he has contributed to the building of the cathedral and he thinks the church has to sit down with the government to see the way forward.

“I believe that it’s a very important project and I have contributed to it Construction and as it stands now, I think the Church will have to sit down with government to see the way forward in completing the National Cathedral” add. Bawumia said.

He added that, when elected as the President, he will forge collaboration with the Church to seek partnership with the private sector ensure the National Cathedral is completed.
