Jomoro MP constructs Amamamo bridge at Elubo

Residents in and around Amamamo at Elubo in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region can breathe a sigh of relief after their dilapidated wooden bridge was constructed and commissioned by the Member of Parliament, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.

Residents, chiefs, and elders, as well as commuters, were extremely concerned about the bridge’s condition because it was a death trap.

The bridge has been a primary access route for residents of that area; however, the bridge’s previous condition posed a threat to those who walk on it.

It was more hazardous for pregnant women and the ill, particularly when it rained because the wooden structure was of poor quality.

However, due to Dorcas Affo Toffey’s prompt intervention, the construction of a significant bridge on that stretch has been completed and commissioned.

The Chief of Elubo, Nana Kesse Panyin III, explained that the bridge was a source of stress before the Jomoro MP was established.

He stated that some people came to build the bridge, but all they did was position a coconut tree on it, which was washed away by the rain.

Nana Panyin III expressed shock at the work because he thought it was going to be a minor bridge just as what the predecessors did but this has been a different one.

The Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey said her core mandate is to provide better lives for her constituents.

She said when she commenced the project, people thought she would not be able to do it but she took the courage and completed the project.

Madam Affo-Toffey said, “It was a bridge that almost everyone in the area commuted and so it was their headache to have it constructed”.

She expressed a desire to do more for her constituents, but because her court case has depleted her finances, she will do her best as a representative.

The mp assured her constituents that she will continue to affect their lives, so they should re-elect her to continue her exemplary service.
