Koforidua:  Police to strengthen partnership with MTN  to reduce MOMO fraud

The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Twumasi Ankrah, has said the police administration will ensure that they provide a conducive environment for MTN Momo operators.

He stated that the police would work diligently to minimize momo fraud and urged MTN and other Teleco operators to collaborate with the police administration.

DCOP Twumasi Ankrah spoke at the annual MTN Media and Stakeholders forum in Koforidua, Eastern Region.

He called for the public’s cooperation in combating  MOMO fraud, which he described as a crime.

The Senior Manager in charge of Regional Sales, South East, Peter Bimpeh, said protecting customers was key in every business, and MTN is working to ensure that the MOMO fraud becomes a thing of the past.

He stated that MTN will work with the police to apprehend those responsible for the MOMO crime.

 Senior Corporate Communications Manager at MTN Ghana, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu,  gave the assurance that the company was committed to prioritizing digital initiatives in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment using technology.

She added that MTN will invest 75% of its projects focused on ICT-related activities to improve livelihoods.
