Kufour did not introduce me to politics- Alan

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the former Trade Minister has denied claims that he was brought into politics by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The former Minister has been in the news after he publicly announced his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at a press conference on Monday, September 25, 2023.

The former Minister of Trade, who also announced his bid to contest the 2024 polls as an independent candidate, complained about supposed divisiveness in the NPP and alleged hostile attacks on himself and his supporters for more than a decade now.

Until his resignation, it was widely believed that failed NPP presidential candidate Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen was recruited into politics by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with TV3 monitored by atinkaonline.com, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen stated that Kufour did not bring him into Politics.

He revealed that he formed the Young Executive Forum to back the NPP when it was formed in 1992.

The former Minister indicated that at age 22, he was a manager at Unilever and doing well.

“President Kufuor did not bring me into politics, sometimes, I talk to him and he feels really hurt. I think it is unfair to [former] President Kufuor but unfortunately this has continued for a very long time until he exited,” Alan indicated.
