My Help, Your Help Foundation fetes over 1000 street children

Nicholas Cofie, president of “My Help, Your Help Foundation,” a non-profit organization, has said streetism is becoming a threat to the country’s peace and security.

He added that the government should take pragmatic steps to eradicate such a menace by tightening the country’s borders to disallow Malians and Fulanis from entering the country to beg for arms.

He made the comments the feeding of over 1,000 poor and street children here in Accra as part of the My Help, Your Help foundation’s social corporate responsibility in giving back to society. The phenomenon of children living and working on the streets. People often refer to these children as vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and neglect.

They engage in informal activities like begging, vending, or scavenging to survive. Causes of street violence include poverty and economic hardship, family breakdown, conflict, and many more. As part of its social corporate responsibility, your foundation, a non-governmental organization, fed over 1,000 street children and the marginalized within the municipality to alleviate their hardship.

Starting from the national theater, the team traveled to the airport, Accra Mall, and Madina, where they fed over seven hundred street children. Nicholas Cofie is president of the My Help, Your Help Foundation.

He appealed to the government to work hard through the ministry of gender children and social protection to reduce street violence in the country. He further stressed the need for churches, corporate bodies, and individuals to extend hands to help the needy.

Archibald Korley, the administrative manager of My Help, Your Help Foundation called for assistance to expand the foundation’s territory by reaching out to the poor.

Working-class individuals (doctors, nurses, bankers, lawyers, teachers, engineers, pastors, auditors, fashion designers, etc.) form the non-profit organization (NPO) MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation, pooling resources to alleviate the plight of the poor, needy, and less privileged (orphans, homeless children, prisoners, and widows) in society.

The Foundation aims to inspire and empower these vulnerable people to improve their socioeconomic status. The foundation’s vision is to be the most accessible and reliable center of support for the poor, needy, and less privileged in society with tender love and care.
