After nearly an hour of suspension, voting has resumed in the Ningo Prampram constituency to select an NDC candidate for parliament.
The tense environment at the Prampram Durbar grounds, where a fierce contest between the incumbent Sam George and his main challenger Michael Tetteh, whom he defeated by only six votes in the most recent primaries, nearly led to a brawl between spotters from both factions.
Despite a court order, some delegates from two branches who were initially barred from voting along with four other branches were prevented from participating in today’s election. This resulted in a confrontation between the incumbent’s agents and those of his leading challenger.
Following a series of deliberations, voting has begun, with the fate of approximately 16 delegates from the two disputing branches still to be determined.
